LABASAD talent at the Junceda Awards 2025: students, alumni, and instructors among the prize-winners

This year, the Junceda Awards 2025, organised by the Professional Association of Illustrators of Catalonia (APIC), once again celebrate the talent, creativity, and diversity of illustration.
A total of three alumni and two Co-directors from LABASAD received awards in the 2025 edition of the Junceda Awards, alongside two nominations for two alumni. Congratulations to all of them — we’re incredibly proud.
Marina Camprubí, LABASAD student, was awarded in the Self-publishing category for her project “Yo tengo un moco”. A piece full of humour, tenderness, and personality, recognised for its graphic synthesis, boldness, and wonderfully playful spirit.
Michele Sclafani, student of the Máster Online en Ilustración Editorial y Publicitaria in Spanish at LABASAD, won in the Scientific category for “A Quantum Musical Instrument” (Quanta Magazine) — a proposal that blends science, art, and visual communication, drawing the seemingly impossible with freshness and originality.
Núria Rubio, LABASAD student, received the Premi Elefanta for “L’inventari d’Ifigènia”, showcasing versatility and artistic maturity across formats through daring colour, photomontage, and a coherent surreal character.

In the Adult Fiction Book category, Carmen Segovia, Co-director of LABASAD’s Máster Online en Libro Ilustrado y Cómic in Spanish, was awarded for her illustrations for “Cuentos oscuros” by Shirley Jackson — bringing the author to new generations with great sensitivity and graphic finesse.

David Acevedo, Co-director of several LABASAD Illustration masters and member of the DAQ studio, received an award for “Singulars” for the Institució de les Lletres Catalanes (Government of Catalonia). The project won in the Editions, Design & Product category for a powerful, consistent visual identity, impeccably applied across diverse media.

We would also like to highlight the Future Professionals category nominations for LABASAD alumni Esteban Emilio Plazibat and Núria Rubio — congratulations on being finalists.
The visual identity for this year’s Junceda Awards was created by Martín Tognola, illustrator and instructor on LABASAD’s Máster Online en Ilustración Editorial y Publicitaria in Spanish, underscoring the school’s presence throughout the event — from the gala’s graphic system to recognition across key categories.
The 2025 edition of the Junceda Awards once again confirms the strength of the talent that grows within LABASAD. Instructors, students, and alumni who understand illustration as a tool for communication, reflection, and change.
At LABASAD, we continue to champion practical, professional, industry-connected training that helps our students develop a personal voice and a contemporary approach to art and design.
✨ Congratulations to all the winners and finalists for continuing to inspire the creative community with your work.
