At LABASAD, we are experiencing an especially exciting year. Our students, alumni, and lecturers are making their mark at some of the most important competitions and festivals in the world of design, illustration, packaging, photography, and visual creativity.

🏆 LAUS Student Awards 2025

It has been a record year for LABASAD, with a total of 12 projects nominated at the LAUS Awards. Among them are two Silver Awards, earned by Alexandra Christodoulou, student of the Online Master in Editorial and Advertising Illustration, and Martina Morató Planell, from the Máster Online en Diseño Web y App: UX/UI, as well as two Bronze Awards, achieved by Mónica Vargas Michel, from the Máster Online en Motion Graphics, and Maria Lia Da Costa Fernandes, from the Online Master in Graphic and Digital Design.

These awards confirm the talent and potential of our students and consolidate LABASAD as a school that promotes creativity and excellence in design.

🌍 ADC*E Awards

This year, LABASAD has four finalist projects at the ADC*E Awards, one of Europe’s most prestigious creative competitions. The awards ceremony will take place on 19 November, and we’ll be cheering for all of them.

✏️ Junceda Awards

In the latest edition of the Junceda Awards, one of the most recognised illustration competitions, LABASAD once again stood out with an impressive representation of creative excellence. The Máster Co-directors David Acevedo and Carmen Segovia, together with students Marina Camprubí, Michele Sclafani, and Núria Rubio, were awarded for the quality and originality of their projects.

📸 Fotocolectania / El Gran Proyector

The winner of the 2025 edition of El Gran Proyector, a documentary photography competition organised by Fundación Foto Colectania, was none other than Yago Soria, student of the Máster Online en Nueva Fotografía Documental.
A recognition that fills us with pride and highlights the remarkable level of our photographers in training.

🥇 Pentawards 2025

This year, LABASAD also took part in the Pentawards gala, held in Amsterdam. The Co-directors of the Máster Online en Diseño Estratégico de Packaging, Miguel Ángel del Baño and Beatriz Suárez from Maba Studio, received a Gold and a Silver award for UPM Raflatac Swatchbook, as well as another Silver for Weirdo, a bold and disruptive packaging design for Rubio Snacks.

The Swatchbook project —designed together with LABASAD alumnus Marco Arroyo— turns a materials catalogue into a sensory experience inspired by the landscapes of Finland, while Weirdo stands out for its daring visual language and strong connection with Generation Z.

Andrea Muñoz, student of the Máster Online en Diseño Estratégico de Packaging at LABASAD, received a Bronze Award in the Student Concepts – Body, Health & Beauty category for her project VULCAN: Volcano Science.

José Aceves, also a student of the Máster Online en Diseño Estratégico de Packaging, was recognised with a Certificate at the Pentawards 2025 for his project Sōl Skin, a finalist in the same category.

Additionally, Simple Studio, led by Gaizka Ruiz, Creative Director and lecturer in the Máster Online en Diseño Gráfico y Entornos Digitales, received seven Pentawards, including a Platinum for Pueblo, making it the second most awarded agency in the world in its very first participation.

🎨 Brut

This year, LABASAD presented three projects at Brut, a design festival organised by Blanc! Fest, featuring two students who travelled from Valencia and one from Barcelona.
The participation offered a unique opportunity to showcase projects of exceptional quality and creativity.

💡 Les Llums de Nadal il·luminen el comerç

For the fourth consecutive year, LABASAD is taking part in this initiative that lights up the shop windows of the Sant Antoni and Poble sec neighbourhoods. Two teams of students are currently developing their proposals, which will be unveiled in early December.
To date, LABASAD has always won an award for Best Window Display!

🎤 OFFF 2025 – Next of Us

Paddy Colins, Martina Morató, and Laura Molina represented LABASAD on stage at OFFF 2025, one of the world’s leading creativity and design events, with the initiative “The Next of Us”. They presented their projects to the audience and shared their experiences in a special edition where LABASAD took part as Sponsor of OFFF 2025.

✨ A community that grows with every achievement
