Guillermo Mur redefines accessibility with Vue on the OFFF stage

At LABASAD, our students' success is what drives us to keep questioning the boundaries of design.

Today, we are bursting with pride for Guillermo Mur, a student of our Máster Online en Diseño Web y App: UX/UI. A couple of weeks ago, he showcased his talent to the international creative community on the NXT stage at the OFFF Festival 2026.

Presenting a project on a platform of this calibre is more than just an academic milestone; it is the validation of a critical and professional perspective on the role of technology in our society. Guillermo presented Vue, his Master’s Final Project, an incredibly innovative proposal that goes beyond solving technical issues to propose a structural shift in how we understand low vision.

Vue: Beyond conventional accessibility tweaks

Guillermo’s premise is as simple as it is profound: low vision is not blindness; it is a spectrum. Often, conventional design attempts to address this condition with “patches” or secondary adjustments that do not communicate with each other, thereby increasing the user’s cognitive load.

Vue was created to shatter that fragmentation. It is an application designed for autonomous navigation in both physical and digital environments, built upon three fundamental pillars:

AI Camera: It processes the surroundings in real-time, offering object detection, text reading (OCR), and depth maps to estimate distances.

Accessible Browser: An environment that restructures any web page into a format focused on readability, allowing total control over contrast, size, and typographic hierarchy.

Human Support: Recognising that technology has its limits, the system integrates a network of verified volunteers for on-the-spot assistance via voice or video.

A System Based on Clarity and Control

From a UI perspective, Guillermo has opted for Helvetica Neue as the backbone of the design, using clear hierarchies and generous spacing to reduce visual fatigue. This is not about “decorating”; it is about organising the experience around predictability and immediate recognition.

What makes Vue stand out is its modular architecture. The user does not have to relearn how to use the tool; the flows are progressive and the “sheet-type” transitions always preserve the context. Ultimately, it is a design that does not just add features but reorganises reality to make it more liveable.

The Future of UX/UI is in People

Guillermo’s vision demonstrates that design is a tool for social transformation, capable of reducing dependency and fostering true autonomy.

We are convinced that this is only the beginning of an unstoppable career.

Congratulations, Guillermo!
