Joining the Master’s Programme in Graphic & Digital Design at LABASAD in autumn 2023 allowed me to finally turn my long-held dream of studying design into reality. Although I was balancing work, raising my young son, and navigating a major career change in a relatively new field, each challenging assignment helped me build confidence and creative discipline.
The intensive programme never felt lonely thanks to the supportive professors, mentors, and the vibrant international community of students that I still stay in touch with today. Through a curriculum spanning branding, packaging, and digital design, the masterclasses with global studios gave me a much broader perspective on the creative industry. Perhaps what makes my journey a little different is that I built this new career from scratch while living in a small village in the Bavarian Forest, far away from major creative hubs.
Today, I continue to grow as a designer at Schnitzmühle, a unique ecosystem blending design, culture, and nature that perfectly matches my lifestyle and values. Looking back, LABASAD gave me much more than a degree; it gave me the confidence to start this new chapter and proved that you can build a creative career regardless of where you live.
