Graduated with a degree in Graphic Design from the Pro-Diseño school in Caracas. He founded his first studio, “La Nacional”. In 2001 he moved to Barcelona, where he worked for a year as Art Director at the Casadevall i Pedreño agency.

In 2003 he founded No-Domain, a studio specializing in motion graphics. For more than 15 years, Joaquín has dedicated himself to the creation of live projections, all the while developing a special sensitivity for audiovisual narratives. His work has been shown at festivals and institutions such as Sonar, Xcèntric del CCCB, Unsound, Mapping, MiRA, and MUSCA, among others. After almost a decade of collaboration, Ana Gale and Joaquín Urbina decided to launch their new studio Dedo Ciego, and they premiered it at the end of 2016 with the piece “Bailar”, which one a golden Laus award in the Audiovisual category.
