LABASAD London Trip: A Creative Journey Connecting Students with London’s Design Industry

In September 2025, LABASAD launched its first-ever LABASAD London Trip: a three-day immersive experience for students to discover the city’s creative culture, connect with leading London design studios, and strengthen the sense of community that defines our school.
From 4 to 6 September, 15 LABASAD students travelled to London with the goal of experiencing first-hand how design and creativity thrive in one of the most influential cities in the world.
LABASAD is a 100% online and OnLive design school, but we believe that true learning goes beyond the screen. The London Trip was created to:
- Offer students direct contact with the creative industry.
- Inspire them with new perspectives and real-world projects.
- Create stronger connections within the international design community.
- Enrich the LABASAD experience with a global outlook.
As one of our students put it, “London wasn’t just a destination, it was a catalyst for new ideas and collaborations.”
The highlight of the trip was a series of visits to internationally renowned studios and agencies. Each opened their doors to share insights into their work, processes, and approach to creativity:
It’s Nice That – a reference in creative publishing, blending editorial excellence with design culture.
OMSE – experts in bold, colourful brand identities that spark joy and engagement.
Made Thought – a globally recognised design practice combining innovation and sustainability.
Blackburn Studio – multidisciplinary creatives working at the intersection of design, art direction, and storytelling.
magCulture – a space celebrating independent magazines and the power of editorial design.
For LABASAD students, these encounters were not just studio tours but opportunities to learn directly from industry leaders and ask questions about the future of design.

Design does not exist in isolation. To provide a holistic view, the LABASAD London Trip also included visits to cultural landmarks, including the iconic John Soane’s Museum.
Exploring such institutions helped students understand how history, architecture, and culture can inform and inspire contemporary creative practice.
The trip embodied LABASAD’s core philosophy: Learning by Doing. This time, learning also meant travelling, connecting, and experiencing design where it happens.
Special thanks go to Marina Soto, Director of several LABASAD Masters, who accompanied the group and guided students with her expertise and enthusiasm. Her role was key in ensuring that this first edition of the trip was a success.
We also extend our gratitude to every student who joined. Your energy, curiosity, and creativity made this journey truly unforgettable.

LABASAD London Trip is part of our commitment to building an international creative community. By stepping into global design capitals like London, our students expand their horizons, gain confidence, and build networks that will be invaluable for their careers.
This initiative reflects what LABASAD stands for:
-
A professional education model that combines academic rigour with real-world practice.
-
A community without borders, where creativity connects people worldwide.
-
A vision of design education that adapts to today’s industry — dynamic, international, and constantly evolving.
The success of this first London Trip proves that LABASAD’s educational model can extend beyond the online classroom, offering unique experiences that bring students closer to the global creative industry.
And this is only the beginning. More LABASAD trips and creative encounters are on the horizon, continuing our mission to prepare the next generation of designers, artists, and creative professionals.
✈️ LABASAD London Trip 2025 has shown us that learning can happen anywhere: in a classroom, in a studio, or in the streets of a city that breathes creativity.
