LABASAD at OFFF Barcelona 2025: How did we experience OFFF as an Educational Sponsor?

For three days, LABASAD impressed with an innovative stand and unique activities that captured the attention of thousands of visitors at the 25th edition of the festival.

From 8 to 10 May, LABASAD was present at OFFF Barcelona 2025 as an Educational Sponsor, taking part in one of the world’s most important events in art, creativity, and digital design. With over 5,000 attendees from 85 countries, this edition transformed Barcelona into the global epicentre of visual innovation, and our stand was one of the most acclaimed spaces by the public.

The LABASAD Creators’ Playground was the highlight of our participation. This interactive and immersive stand, conceived as a physical extension of our virtual classrooms, invited attendees to explore various creative disciplines through experiences designed in collaboration with our Directors of Máster.

The structure and design were overseen by Pere Ortega, director of the Máster Online en Diseño de Espacios Temporales y Arquitectura Efímera, who embodied LABASAD’s identity and essence in a space that combined functionality, aesthetics, and cutting-edge design. Pere Ortega is an architect at Saeta Estudi, his professional architecture studio, and at ColourCommunity.

The digital experiences animating the stand were developed by Adrià Chalaux and Albert Moreu, codirectors of the Máster Online en Programación para Creativos and co-founders of Collserola. Their flagship creation was the “Creative Spin of Fortune,” a digital wheel with 16 sections offering visitors a fun mix of physical prizes and creative challenges.

Visitors spun the wheel to win prizes such as pencils, notebooks, the official LABASAD T-shirt, and personalised stickers—the latter two being the most coveted gifts at the festival. Additionally, they could access high-value rewards such as a 20% discount on a Máster of their choice, free entry to exclusive workshops, personalised portfolio reviews by LABASAD instructors, full scholarships to complete a Máster, and guided tours of our offices.

The challenges on the wheel were directly linked to the Collaborative Digital Mural, a giant interactive screen where participants drew or wrote using tablets, contributing to a constantly evolving collective design. Each drawing or message responded to the creative challenges posed by the wheel, turning the mural into a living artwork that tangibly represented the collaborative spirit driving our school.

Moreover, we had the opportunity to offer the exclusive workshop “Less Genius, More Human,” delivered by Marco Ontano, director of the Online Master in Creative Direction. In this workshop, Marco challenged the myth of the solitary creative genius to highlight the importance of empathy, collaboration, and active listening in creative processes. Through real examples and a practical exercise, he invited participants to rethink creative authorship from a collective perspective—a reflection that resonated deeply among creatives, students, and professionals alike.

LABASAD was also part of “The Next of Us” (NXT), the platform showcasing emerging talent from the leading design schools in Barcelona. Our representation was entrusted to three outstanding students: Paddy Colins (Online Master in Motion Graphic), Martina Morató (Máster Online en Diseño WEB y APP: UX/UI) y Laura Molina (Máster Online en Motion Graphics con After Effects y Cinema 4D), who presented innovative and conceptually strong projects, demonstrating the quality and diversity that characterise our online educational community.

Finally, on the main stage of OFFF, Mat Voyce, renowned typographic designer and animator as well as a professor of the Online Master in Motion Graphics at LABASAD, delivered one of the festival’s most celebrated talks. With his distinctive visual style and engaging presence, Mat shared his creative process in animated typography design.

LABASAD’s participation at OFFF Barcelona 2025 reflected our philosophy: global, inclusive, and collaborative education that goes beyond the classroom to build real connections and offer unique opportunities in the world of design and creativity.

Thank you to everyone who came by, participated, shared, and were part of this unforgettable experience.
